Sleeve or compact bag for a laptop with an extended battery?

I recently bought a 15 inch Dell Studio 1558 with the upgraded battery. (Screen is 15.6″) I got it and the battery pack sticks out pretty far from the bottom/back of the laptop. The back of the laptop is 2 1/2 inches tall compared to about 1 inch on the front. I’ve been looking for sleeves that might fit this, but I have come up empty handed. Can anyone give me any links to small bags or sleeves that I can put inside a backpack? Or a backpack that I can use as a laptop bag & carry other stuff also?

The folks at Best Buy are very helpful with that. The accessories they have for laptops are pretty extensive. I’m sure you’ll find what you’re looking for at a place like that. Also, I would recommend a back pack bag in that situation. A regular “briefcase” style case might not fit it very well, and when you take it with you, it leaves your hands free. Hopefully that was helpful.

Checkout http://www.mybriefcases.com they have lots of laptop bags that will fit a 15 inch laptop.

samsung mini laptop. Will it shift around to much or will I have to get one of those padded sleeves to put it in to protect it better and keep it from sliding around?

As long as the backpack has a bit of cushioning to it i don’t think an inch or two of extra space is going to be a big deal. That should be fine.

I would use it and if it seems to shift just cut a piece of foam for each side about 3/4 inch thick and slide in on each side.

Do what you think best, you can always put some clothes or stuff in there to make it not move the 1.6 “

Consider buying a neoprene sleeve to put on the laptop in the backpack so that it will fit snug and not slide around.

You should get padding, Other wise it will jump around in there, and it could crack your screen if it hits something hard.

No… If you try to then alarms will go off and the police will come and arrest you and you’ll probably be sentenced to death…

It should be fine, you can always roll up a small towel or something to fill up the gap…
