I am traveling to hawaii at the beginning of October, my 8 year old daughter wants to come with me of course. Does anyone know if there are any airlines out there offering discount child fares? Can travel agents really help with lower prices?

AJ:There is no discount for children everyone from age 2 to 200 pay the same price.
Amanda j:The only way an airline will discount is if you travel in a group. Otherwise, kids aren’t free unless they are under two and you sit them on your lap.
Gerald J:Airlines like Southwest and Midwest Airlines (and many other mostly foreign airlines) still offer child fares, but unfortunately for you do not fly to Hawaii. Check websites like Kayak.com for fares on the dates you want to fly. Travel agents sometimes can get very good prices, it can’t hurt to contact a travel agent, especially one that specializes in flights to Hawaii. It doesn’t cost anything to get a quote.
